Adopted!
Wyatt came to us due to a family dispute where Wyatt was caught in the middle. According to the prior owners, Wyatt has been through professional training, but Wyatt was allowed to do as he pleased. He was his daddy’s boy and pushed the limits. Has forgotten his leash training, and his manners when meeting a new person.
Since being in foster care, he has shown he has a wonderful personality, he loves being with people, and loves to play with the other dogs. He is afraid of the cat in the house, and barks at her whenever he sees her. Wyatt is crate trained, housebroken, up to date on his shots. He is very smart and watches his human closely in a manner that is like he is asking, ” What do you want me to do?” He is interested in everything and loves adventures. He loves to play with his stuffies and sitting beside his human to be petted. He wants desperately to be a good boy and is looking for direction from his people on how to do that – you can see it in his eyes. He will try to take advantage, so consistency is a must.
The perfect forever home for Wyatt would be with someone who is very active, and who will provide structure for him. Giving Wyatt free reign is NOT in Wyatt’s best interest. He needs someone who will utilize crate training, and train him with a firm but gentle hand – a person who will love Wyatt but make him earn all of the privileges a good dog wants.
Wyatt was the husband’s dog in his previous home. He had free reign and appears to have resource guarded the husband from the wife. She got fed up and called Animal Control to have him put down. His breeder was contacted, and she called ABR to help. Since Wyatt has been in Foster Care in a structured environment, Wyatt has not shown any obstinate behavior, resource guarding or aggression.
