Dog Story: Toby is an adorable boy who is ALL puppy at one year old! This handsome youngster came into ABR’s care from a shelter and was ready to become part of a family. Toby is a liver_white Brittany mix with a long tail that is always wagging. He has tons of puppy energy and enjoys running the yard, going for walks, playing with toys, and LOVES playing with other dogs! He works hard and plays hard and is eager to learn, and most of all wants to be with his people getting human attention. All the things about living in a home were new to Toby and he is learning housetraining, leash manners and basic commands such as come, sit, and wait. Like most pups Toby likes to jump up to be close to you and he’s learning the off commands to discourage jumping. Toby is crate trained and accustomed to sleeping safe and sound in his crate at night and when the family is out. He is smart and eager to please and will thrive in beginner puppy obedience classes with his new people to learn even more. Toby is very affectionate and has lived with children. We don’t know about cats, but we do know Toby is a social butterfly with other dogs! He would enjoy canine companions and playmates to romp with and direct that puppy energy! Toby weighs 35 pounds and is current on vaccinations, heartworm negative and on preventive and microchipped. He is ready to find his forever home with a family that will love and cherish a delightful bundle of energy. If you are interested in welcoming home a busy-bee puppy, please submit the online adoption applicationand mention Toby-5081, then contact his foster family to learn more about him! Toby arrived at a high-kill Louisiana shelter and his time was very limited. A kind local rescue volunteer alerted ABR to Toby’s plight and immediately stepped in to help save Toby and get him into the safety of ABR foster care.
