Dog Story: TOBY is a wonderful Brittany puppy (DOB 10/17/11). The first striking thing about Toby is he is beautiful, soft white fur, lovely green eyes, long legs and white ear. And to go with that external beauty, he is a sweet spirit. He is full of Brittany energy. He is playful, energetic, wild and fun. He loves to cuddle with me, always putting his paw near or touching me. Toby loves people. He is house trained, been neutered, and is up to date on his shots. Toby loves to spend his day with his pointer brother, going for a hike and mostly chasing any and ALL butterflies. He spends his day on the hunt for these creatures. We also discovered he is an excellent mouser. He has a strong prey drive and won’t be good with a cat. He barks only for real reasons, like the UPS man. Toby’s ideal home would have a person home all the time or at least another dog. He does not like to be left alone. He is fine with older children, but loves the adults in his life the most. He needs a country style home with lots of room to play and safely run. He loves to swim. So a country home with a lake near by? So if you read this far, you might be wondering, ‘why is this dog an ABR dog?’. Toby has bilateral hip dysplasia. He was owner surrendered due to this problem. Toby’s future will hold correction surgery on one side. For now, Toby is more then able to keep up and play with the pointer kids. He has a limp on his right side when tired. He has had a full evaluation by an orthopedic vet. Toby is a typical young brittany so think PUPPY PUPPY PUPPY that said he needs a balance of rest and exercise. It would also be best for his hip if he isnt exercised on concrete, or hard surfaces. He needs further training, because he loves to dig and chew like any puppy! If you think your home would be perfect for Toby please fill out the online adoption application and mention Toby #3788. Toby was surrendered by his owner because of his hip problem.
