Dog Story: Stormy and Dusty are an adorable pair of 4 year old orange and white Brittany brothers. Both boys are living in the same ABR foster home and very bonded. Stormy and Dusty have been together since birth, so while we would prefer to keep them together with a new forever family, we will consider adopting them separately to the right homes. Stormy is on the smaller side at around 33 pounds. He is a gentle soul and a very soft dog – sweet, loving and always seeking your approval. The brothers are very bonded but have done very well integrating with our two dogs. Nothing would make Stormy happier than spending hours at a time cuddling on your lap. These boys love being around people and are wonderful with our daughter. Stormy and Dusty also enjoy chasing each other around and playing games with our younger Chesapeake. They were previously kept as outside dogs but are adjusting quickly to life indoors and learning house manners. So far we have had no potty accidents but some counter-surfing and kid-toy stealing. Both dogs are crate-trained and accustomed to sleeping safe and sound in their crates when the family is out. Stormy seldom barks and we would characterize his energy level as moderate for a Brittany when provided the regular daily exercise he requires. Stormy generally comes when called but needs to work on other commands. Stormy and Dusty were previously fully trained as hunting dogs and respond to whistle commands. However, we have not tested them in the field and our priority is placing both dogs in forever homes where they will first and foremost enjoy life as beloved indoor family pets. You could not find a lovelier Brittany than Stormy – he has stolen a piece of our hearts and is truly a joy to have around. Stormy is neutered, current on vaccinations, heartworm negative and on preventive and microchipped. Stormy and Dusty have been together all their lives and were surrendered by their family after their owner became ill. When the owner could no longer care for the dogs, Stormy and Dusty were kept chained in the front yard for 12 hours a day and in their crates in the garage for 12 hours a day. They are in need of a loving home that can provide plenty of time, exercise, attention and cuddling.
