Dog Story: This is Sparky! He is the most sweet and loving boy ever. We even love his very special smile!! He loves to spend time with his foster mom and dad. During his first week at his new foster home, he was a little shy while figuring out his place in the pack. He slept in his crate each night with his own special toy. However, he’d much rather sleep in bed with you!He is learning his puppy manners and waits to be invited onto the bed or into your lap. He is currently sleeping in his own special doggy bed each night. He has also found his voice! He will let you know if he is: happy, wants to play or be loved, hungry, or excited. It is rather funny that we are learning to speak his language. Don’t let his cuddly,loving behavior fool you; he is very much a Britt with lots of energy, too. He plays very well with his foster sister who is a Golden Retriever. He loves playing tugwith her and fetching the tennis ball. Running after birds in the backyard is one of his favorite things but once a bird has attention all bets are off. We are working with him to understand that when we call him, needs to listen to us for his own safety and leave the bird alone for a minute. He completely understands his basic commands for sitting and mostly staying.He walks very well on a leash,is house-trained, and learned the doggy door without an issue. Sparky isa cuddle, lovebug and yet a puppy who needs lots of exercise. His forever family will need to be able to spend time with him doing both. He really is the best of both worlds. Because of his desire for canine affection, he would most likely do best as a second dog.
