Dog Story: Hey y’all! My name is Silly Sweet Sandy-Girl (or Sandy for short). I had a rough start I was purchased from a breeder by a family who didn’t know much about Brittany’s. They ignored me and left me kenneled all day and night, and eventually I developed a urinary tract infection before being abandoned at a veterinary clinic. (I’m all better now!) The vet was smart enough to call ABR, and after staying with a nice foster family, I found what I thought would be my forever family. It was awesome! There were boats to ride in, kids to play with, and acres upon acres of woods, fields and ponds. I even had two puppy BFFs – they were the best buddies a girl could ask for – but my daddy got a new job and we had to move away, and I’m not adjusting well to my new home. Everyone’s so busy and we no longer have a humongous yard for me to play in. The loneliness and boredom has been getting to me, and I’ve started chewing on my knees out of stress. My family loves me so much – they cried buckets of tears when they decided to give me up – but they’ve told me it isn’t fair for them to keep being selfish It’s time for me to find a new family who can give me the attention and exercise I deserve! Sandy is the sweetest little girl who is dearly loved by her family. She is a social butterfly who is excellent with other dogs, children, and babies. She still doesn’t like being kenneled, so when the family travels they either leave her with family/friends or a facility with indoor/outdoor enclosures. She is microchipped, heartworm negative, takes heartworm preventative, and is spayed, up-to-date on all vaccines. (Annual exam was May 2018) She broke her left hind leg in an accident a few years ago, but the vet did an excellent job and it doesn’t slow her down a bit. She is a happy, healthy little girl!
