Samson AKA Sammy is a wonderful, handsome tall boy. He is good with other dogs and adores our resident female Britt. He feels his mission is to greet all other dogs on our walks. If another dog strikes up a conversation, Sammy will follow suit. He has a very strong prey drive. We humans watch for squirrels, ducks, geese anything that moves on our walks. Otherwise Sammy will pull and test your arm strength. He is getting better, but does need improvement in that area. He also is counter surfer who will help himself to what ever is there. You can say he is food motivated. But, in fairness to Sammy, he could stand to gain a few pounds. He also is a phenomenal snuggler, affectionate and so eager to please. He loves to be with his pack. Initially he was stressed going into the crate. He’s learned treats and his stuffy will be there and humans WILL come back.This guy has so much potential. He needs someone with the time and patience to work with him. A training class is essential for Sammy. Please, you must commit to a meet and greet prior to adoption. We feel in is important to assure all family members (human and canine) are a good match before anything is decided. His owner went into a nursing home and family members could not care for him. He has been neutered, vaccinated, micro chipped, HW tested negative and on preventative.
