Dog Story: Hi! I’m Rusty and I’m the young dog you’ve been looking for. I’m only about a year old so I can be with you a long time. I respond to Rusty, come, off (when I jump on my foster Mom), outside, crate and good boy. But I know very little and I do silly puppy stuff, sometimes making mistakes that get me in trouble. I don’t get in the trash or counter surf. My hostess, a cocker spaniel, is trying to teach me how to play with toys. Mom says that I’m a good boy but that I am prey driven. Cotton Kitty, an outdoor cat, is not safe with me. If she walks up to me, I’m OK, but if she runs, it’s game on! I haven’t had any accidents in the house thanks to frequent trips outside and Mom watching me carefully. I may be a Brittany mix but I’m Quite Handsome even if I do say so myself! Everyone that sees me comments on my full, feathered tail that I frequently carry in a gentle loop up to my back and my lush, soft coat. Can you tell from my pictures? I’ve been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered recently. The vet suspects I got in a fight when I was about 6 months old and may have limited vision in my left eye. They also recommended some glucosamine chondroitin for some hind end stiffness so the kind folks at ABR are starting me on that too! Life is good for me now, so just enjoying my time here at my foster home until my forever home comes a callin’ ! So if you might like to take me home please fill out the online adoption application and make sure you tell them Rusty 5542 in NC. History: Rusty was surrendered to a shelter by his owner when he was too playful for their senior dog in the home. Unfortunately not much else is known about his past.
