Dog Story Looking for a new best friend and walking buddy? Rookie is ready to be that new friend! Rookie is a sweet affectionate dog who loves to be with people. He paced a lot when he first came to us, but he is relaxed and enjoying being part of the family now. He is happy to see the grandkids every day and chase squirrels with his brittany brother. Rookie has chronic arthritis in one of his front elbows, but it doesn’t slow him down. While he takes medication for his elbow, he is energetic, loves walking to school with the grandkids every day (~2.0 miles RT), visiting the dog park and loves laying at your feet in the house. He is housebroken, rides well in the car, learned how to use the doggie door, loves sleeping in his crate, sits for food and treats without jumping up, and gets along well with other dogs,. If you are interested in having Rookie join your family, please fill out the onlineadoption applicationand for more info call his foster parents. Dog History: Rookie had previously been adopted by a family whose child developed an allergy to dogs. He was then surrendered to a shelter when ABR got involved.
