Dog Story: Ron traveled from Spain with an American name arriving at Dulles airport on Saturday, March 24. When he first arrived, he was very nervous and jumped away whenever we touched him without warning, but he settled and blended into his American foster home in about one week. He gets on well with the two other dogs in the house; one Brittany and one Yorkie. Ron is house broken and loves the outdoors. Like his canine companions, he loves to chase birds, squirrels, and seeks out mice from the woodpile. His Spanish foster home noted that Ron has a sight problem. This has not been noticed as a major issue in America and the vet says he can lead a normal life and we have noticed that Ron does not appear to have problems seeing things in the distance, as he loves to watch our neighbor’s white outdoor cat across the street wandering their yard but ABR is going to have him checked out by an Ophthalmologist. After spending one week in America, on April 2nd he injured his foot in the back yard chasing a squirrel. An x-ray showed that he broke a bone in his right front foot. He has been wearing a splint on his leg, is on the mend, and will be x-rayed again in another 2 weeks. Ron is very well behaved and loves to be loved on. He is not very demanding and very much enjoys walks in the neighborhood. If you are considering Ron as your next family member, please submit an adoption application Ron was found as a homeless stray in Cordoba and was so scared, they had to trap him. Once in his Spanish foster home, he learned to trust people. While we do not know a lot about his history, his Spanish foster home speculated that he may have been abused.
