River does like to chew on his soft squeaky toys and benebones. His biggest thrill, chasing the squirrels in our yard. Though he hasn’t caught one yet (thank goodness) River has those souful eyes that just melt your heart and can convince you that he has done no wrong. River doesn’t bark much either…unless there is squirrels….then it is game on! River is house-trained, loves every person, is a lap dog if you let him.

River is great around other dogs, loves having them around as it eases his anxiety of being alone. River hasn’t engaged in play with them yet, but my dogs are not real dog” players so that could be why.

Rivers ideal home would be one with at least 1 other dog, an active family that would include him in their daily activities and give him plenty of exercise and lots of love.

HISTORY:

River had a wonderful home who loved him dearly. Unfortunately, their child developed complex health issues that meant many trips the Dr’s, etc. and River was left crated for long periods of time. They knew that was not fair to him, so they reached out to ABR.
