Dog Story: Why hello there! I’m Remington, but my foster family calls me Remi. I am a cool and cuddly French Brittany that aims to please. Since arriving at my foster home, I have been learning so many things! I am proud to say I am close to being completely house trained, helped by the fact that my foster family learned that too much excitement can lead to a tinkle accident. I like to sleep in my crate at night because I have this awesomely comfortable bed and will wait patiently in the morning until your ready for our first walk. Picking up the kids from school means a car ride for me and I am a great co-pilot! I would like to mention that the resident cat and I are not the best of friends, I chase her when she does come out of her hiding spot. I would do best in a house without cats, I am just not sure this young guy can contain himself. I adore my human brothers and LOVE to play, but since I have not had much exposure to the young folks, I do best when playing without dog toys (I am quite possessive). Like everyone these days, I am trying to add more culture to my life and have taken up reading, particularly ‘Etiquette for the Modern Dog’ andCanine Vogue. The take home message: countersurfing is out and mohawks are in! Who knew? But I am really trying hard to master these gentlemen-like behaviors. I will sit patiently when asked and gently take a treat from your hand. I will also wait for you to put on my harness and leash and do well when we go for walks. When we go for short walks in the woods, my foster family sometimes lets me off my leash, as I am trained to stay close by and immediately come when called. I even stop when I am chasing a squirrel! I adore long cuddles and belly rubs, I will stay close by when you are in the kitchen to keep you company. I am an ideal dog for someone with an active lifestyle, as I could most certainly keep up! However, I am a big couch potato and after a short walk, I just really want to lay in your lap. If this is your idea of fun, then count me in! Remington was a thoughtful owner surrender with his sister Clover after his owners family members required increased care. He is up to date on vaccinations and will be micro-chipped.
