Hi Everyone. Reggie is the sweetest. He is a big teddy bear. He is an owner surrender from Nebraska. Unfortunately the family felt he deserved more attention than they could give. The most important thing about Reggie is connection, he is not fond of being by himself for too long. He would be great for a retiree, stay at home parent, a telecommunter, etc. He also LOVES being outside. Reggie is very content to sit and scan the horizon. Reggie walks well on a leash and is constantly sniffing so I am thinking he would be a great hunter. Reggie is patient and very smart. When Reggie came to us he was NOT accustomed to stairs. He was very afraid. He would watch from the steps as our other Britt ran around us. We tried coaxing with treats but he was stubborn. However within 48 hours, he was running up and down the steps! He learned it by watching and overcoming his fear. Reggie enjoys people and other dogs. I do not know about cats. Reggie’s owners told us he has allergies and is on Apoquel but we wonder if his constant licking was from anxiety or inattention. We have had him for just a couple days, but we will be monitoring this. Reggie rides very well in the car and did great for his 5 hour trip to us. Reggie is also a great watch dog as he will alert you if something is not right. Reggie bonds easily and is a pleaser. Here’s an example of his adorable personality: Reggie was a counter surfer and would not take no for an answer. A squirt or two of vinegar water and he was done. He went and pouted in the corner with his back toward me. When I went to talk to him, he just kept turning away. It was hilarious, but sweet. Reggie is a runner so a fenced yard or another form of containment is a must!!! He can also jump with ease too. Reggie knows sit, shake, and down, has a ‘soft’ mouth and is somewhat of a picky eater. Reggie will come with a kennel, bag of food, dishes, leash, and toys. Reggie is ready for his forever home. He will give you his heart and attention readily. What’s not to love? Reggie is up to date on his vaccines and is heartworm negative and on preventative. If you are interested in this very sweet boy, please fill out the adoption application and mention his name and ID #. Reggie’s family loved Reggie, but realized they were not able to give him the attention and time needed to own a Brittany so ABR was contacted and we took him in.
