Red is a very birdy and energetic young dog that plays with others on our fenced acreage. Red is content in the pack, is well socialized and not aggressive. He eats well with others although he bolts down his food and looks for seconds. We’ve been training with him at off leash call-back training, where he has good recall at smaller distances and he will call back, hold and heel when asked.Like a typical Brittany, Red is eager to please. Somewhere in the past Red may not have had the best treatment; we’ve noticed he will cringe when called,even crawling up submissively, squinting and dodging your hands. 🙁 We’re working very hard on building his confidence, and using a lot of praise to clarify good behavior he’s thriving under this training method.One concern we have that will take some work is his human guarding behavior; we’ve been his people only a short time yet when he’s on a leash he appears to be possessive of us by exhibiting stiff leg behavior when strangers approach. In the yard and free ranging he does not display this same behavior. We’re trying different techniques to work through this and are confident Red can get past it.More than anything Red loves to run and play, therefore he would do best in a home where he will have lots of room to run. Red would also be most successful in an experiencedBrittany home.Red is crate trained and travels well in a car.Red is great with kids over 10, dogs, cats and is respectful of fences. Red is 16 months old, housebroke, was just neutered at the beginning of September and is up-to-date on all immunizations.If you think you’re up to the challenge and can keep up with Red then GAME ON!!
