Dog Story: Hi potential future American family! I am newly arrived from Spain and have been in my foster home less than a week. People who have met me say I am handsome and sweet. I am not a fan of being in a crate and won’t go in voluntarily yet. When I’m put in the crate, I bark a little and then go to sleep so I’ll probably get to like it after awhile. I’m also not sure about toys yet. They are interesting but the squeakers are a little scary and so far I don’t understand why the other Brittanys here love to shake them and play tug of war with them. Foster mom thinks I look sad sometimes but she understands I went through a lot to get to America for a better life. Today she was excited though because I did a happy dance and wagged my nubbie at her. There are 3 Brittanys here (2 girls and 1 boy). They are all pretty nice but one girl is bossy and the boy eats dinner fast so he can try to grab mine. Because of that, I’m eating in a separate room for right now. I like playing chase with the 3 of them but my favorite thing is to cuddle up on the sofa or chair with foster mom. She says I’m going to be a velcro dog. Foster mom says I’m doing very good with house training and the come command but that I still need lots of practice on sit, stay and leash walking. I really enjoy her fenced in yard and one of my favorite things is to go out early in the morning and follow the scents I pick up. Thus far, I haven’t tried to escape by digging under, climbing over or jumping her fence. But foster mom keeps a close eye on me while I’m out in the yard since I am very interested in birds, squirrels, and rabbits. She thinks that I’ll do well as either an only dog or with other dogs. She says I’m really smart and would benefit from obedience training and long walks. I’m still a little shy and timid but my personality is starting to come out. I quickly became attached to my foster mom who gives me good food, ear scratches, and belly rubs and she is sure I will be a loyal companion to some lucky person or family Rambo was rescued in Spain from a kill station. Nothing more is currently known abut his background. When we are able to rescue these deserving souls, our lives are richer!!
