Poppy is a smaller Britt, but don’t let that fool you She is very active and loves to run and play with her foster brother. She is a typical 12 month old brittany, full of spunk, love and creativity.

Poppy was purchased from a Breeder in Georgia and flown to her owner. He wanted her as a hunting dog, but she didn’t live up to his expectations. She was given to another family, but they realized she was too much, so she went to live with another family. Their property is not fully fenced, and leash walks for Poppy just doesn’t work. She needs a big enough yard to run and play. So they called ABR to help find her that perfect forever home.

Life with Poppy will be an adventure, as she is full of fun, and is so interested in everything that goes on around her. She needs work on her leash training, and will need work on her recall, but she is smart and wants to please. She rides very well in the car in her crate, and sleeps in her crate. She is respectful of the other dogs in the house, fitting into her pack status easily.

Poppy is such a love. She is a velcro girl, however, and craves as much attention as you can give her. She wants to be close to her people, and will push her foster brother and sister out of the way to get it. This may subside when she is secure in her forever home, but as Poppy has lived in 4 homes in her short life, her need for reassurance and security is huge. Poppy has had some nice training: She doesn’t go out the door before her human, she knows stay, she doesn’t bolt out the door, she only jumps on you when she is totally excited, and she doesn’t counter surf.

If you think that Poppy would be a great fit for your family, please submit your adoption application. We will not transport Poppy, so please be prepared to come to meet her in her foster home if you are truly interested.
