Poncho is an extremely sweet and loving petite 2-year-old male who came to us from Spain on Thanksgiving weekend. Since then he has blossomed and loves to run and play with his ‘pack brothers’. He learns very quickly and listens well but still can’t resist trying to chase the cat. He will benefit from ongoing consistency and a loving gentle hand to train and discipline. He can be very timid at times if he thinks he has done something wrong even when he hasn’t. He seems to have had a very rough start but as he relaxes more and more, and comes out of his shell, his adorable personality shines through. He consistently follows his humans everywhere, comes immediately when called, heels and is a perfect gentleman on his walks and anywhere you take him. He’s very social to everyone and every dog he meets and has an extremely gentle soul, a tail that wags non-stop and a look that will melt your heart. He loves to be loved and can’t get enough affection, one of those rare finds that could be a great companion and/or therapy dog. He loves to play fetch, bounce the entire way there and then pounce on the ball like it’s going to get away, brings it back and gives it to you when told. He has a great nose and has started to learn how to ‘find it’ when he can’t see where the ball (or whatever it was) went. Poncho is crate trained and will kennel when told. Would do best in a fenced yard and would do very well with other dogs and children cats, maybe not but it’s a work in progress. Poncho is very excited to find his forever home where he can settle in, be a part of your family and be loved and cared for forever.
