Petie is a sweetie!’ If you want an affectionate, fun-loving, curious and energetic addition to your family, please consider offering a forever-home to this young Britt. Petie is approximatley 1 1/2 years old and was found as a stray in Alabama.Through ABR, heis now living in a foster home in west central Wisconsin. He is a French Brittany and is petite (35 pounds) with beautiful tri-coloring.He is house broken although crate training is still a work in progress. We have an older Britt in our home and a younger yellow lab neighbor and Petie gets along fine with them. I have no experience with Petie and children or cats. Petie definately needs daily exercise and seems to have a hunting nose on him if someone was interested in training him to hunt. He is sensitive and does not need stern discipline to learn. Things we like about Petie include: -Loves to be around people and be petted and cuddled with. -Responds well to ‘come’ when called. -Good manners on a flexi-leash and does not pull. When we walk him in a large open area off-leash, he is good about waiting up/checking back to see where you are. -Very quiet for baths, grooming, etc. -Likes to ride in the car and is fine riding in a crate in a vehicle. He is still fearful of vehicles that pass us on the road whilte walkingbut is getting better -Gets along with other dogs (except protective of food). -Smart and a quick learner. For instance, he has learned that is is not okay to jump on beds and furniture! Some areas of improvement for Petie include -Being comfortable staying in a crate indoors when people are not around. He has been quite an escape artist! However, he does great staying in our outdoor kennel when we are at work all day. -Learning to keep ‘four on the floor’. He has done some counter surfing and likes to put front paws on the bed in the morning but he has improved considerably since when he first arrived. -Likes to chew up anything soft (soft toys, kleenex, dog blankets).
