Forget about diamonds and rubies!  Peter is a true gem!

This handsome gentleman is a calm, snuggly and playful adult whose only bad habit is snoring.  

He was surrendered by another rescue due to crowding and quickly proved himself to be a unique foster.  He had likely been kenneled most of his life, but instantly went to work learning how to be an inside-outside guy.  He learned how to use a dog door in under a day, and takes verbal correction very easily.  Indoor noises and movements are still a slightly scary novelty for Peter, (yeah, nobody likes the vacuum), and he needs reminders about not peeing in the house.

Sweet Pete’s favorite activities are sleeping at your feet, playing outside, car rides and walks.  He’s fair on leash, and takes treats quite delicately.  Left alone, he has discovered the joy of disemboweling stuffed toys, but would rather be with a human or other dogs.  He loves belly rubs and will wave his elegant long plumed tail for you.

His prior guardian noted some snapping at his male kennel mate, but not with a female kennel mate.  Here,  Peter has been growl-negotiating with both my male and female dogs regarding sleeping quarters only.  All dogs have been fed in separate rooms, so no food guarding has been seen. Pete’s prey drive is pretty high, so households with cats are not recommended.

UPDATE: Peter is now the master of not marking in the house, has begun to answer to his name, and has become a world-class snuggler! No disagreements or aggression have been seen with either of my two dogs and Mr. Pete. His enthusiastic yodeling when he is happy is show-stopping! Contact me to meet this wonderful boy!
