Dog Story: Payton is an exuberant and gorgeous Brittany. She is curious about her environment and is always exploring her surroundings. She’s learning how to cuddle in the evening and loves to sleep in bed with you. She is very good about alerting you that she needs to go outside for ‘business’ and has a different approach when she just wants to go out and play. Payton still has some work to do in developing good house manners but is very smart and with good leadership she could easily be the perfect companion. After the initial Brittany energy surge Payton walks well in a harness and leash. She also knows sit, shake, and an interesting ‘nose’ trick where she touches her nose to your finger. She’s learning to play with toys and her favorites seem to be stuffed toys. She really needs a yard with a secure fence so she can stretch those Brittany legs. During times that she’s left alone at home she is comfortable in a large crate with a comfy bed. She will require an experienced dog owner and will need to be included in an active family’s day to day life. Small children and the activity they create make Payton uneasy, so her perfect family would be kid free or children older than 12. She is beginning to accept other dogs in her life, but introductions need to be made carefully and interactions monitored. No sight unseen adoptions for this girl.
