9.13.22 Bonded pair came into rescue. This is what the shelter had to say about them: You’re going to love these two! We hope you’ll not be deterred by the fact that they’re 10 years old because the boys will bring joy to your life, we guarantee it! Mickey and Patches are Brittany spaniel brothers that simply exude happiness. Patches (long tail and thinner) never, ever stops smiling and bouncing into everything: his brother, your legs, a pile of blankets, he just↵wants to check everything out and it’s all fun to him! Mickey (docked tail, chubbier) is more relaxed and laid-back, and seems to look at his brother like, “dude, calm down!”. They’re so extremely sweet, friendly, and they love everyone they meet. Their owner could no longer care for them and the boys have been a bit neglected, but we’ll get them all cleaned up, don’t worry. They are very well-behaved, gentle, they sit immediately when asked and are absolute gentlemen. They seem fine with other dogs and people of all ages. 10.14.22 Patches has recently had trouble keeping food down and was exhibiting discomfort. An ultrasound revealed a tumor in his stomach, inflamed liver and pancreas. This type of tumor is not operable and while some respond in the short term to prednisone Patches condition is so weakened that his body may not be able to handle it. The decision was made to euthanize.
