Adopted!!!
Opie is a wonderful guy who was found as a stray. He is fun loving, affectionate and great around strangers. He enjoys going on walks and playing with his toys. He is great at the dog park, at the vet and the groomer. Opie does well with our resident dog, but is an attention hog. He loves just to sit with you and be petted. He understands the basic commands, but we are working to improve execution of a few of them. A larger fenced-in back yard is essential. He would probably enjoy being with an owner with older children. He is good with other dogs, but he would do well as an only dog.
No sight unseen adoptions for Opie. We feel it is important that all family members (human and canine) meet to assure that we have a good fit. If you think Opie is the boy for you complete the adoption application
Opie was found by a good Samaritan roaming on his acreage in January 2017. This person could not afford the care he needed so a family member took him in. The family member took care of his medical needs. He is neutered and micro chipped, had extensive dental work. He also saw an Ophthalmologist to evaluate his eye infection. He is now in good health, but will need continued vaccines and daily eye treatment. The eye treatment is eye drops applied daily. He is current on all vaccinations, is Heart Worm negative and is on Heart Worm Preventative. They contacted ABR to help find the home Opie so richly deserves.
