After some time and lots of tasty treats he showed us his loyal and loving personality. Oliver has been through quite a rough life and needs a family to teach him tricks, how to be a normal dog, and to give him all the attention he deserves. Oliver came to us with a shattered pelvis, broken ribs, hookworms, whipworms, heartworm disease, and storm/separation anxiety. After some strict crate rest, strong dewormer, light sedatives, and heartworm treatment his bones healed, and we got rid of the intestinal parasites and he should be heartworm tested again in august for his long-awaited negative result.Oliver knows his name and will come running when he hears it because he knows he’s getting attention. Although he doesn’t know many tricks, he is a very smart dog and will pick up on them very quickly as long as some tasty snacks are involved. He was fostered in a small home with a beagle and two small dogs with very big personalities and not once has he lost his friendly calm demeanor. He also doesn’t mind larger dogs given that they are friendly and won’t lunge when he goes to sniff. Oliver is very happy go lucky dog that just enjoys being around everyone and everything.Even though we don’t have any children or cats I think he would do great; we do have a very vocal cockatoo that he enjoys watching and will spend most of his time on a soft rug with a tennis ball while bird watching. If you would like to be considered as Oliver’s forever home please fill out our adoption application and we will be in touch soon!
