Odie is a sweet, lovable boy who wants to be your new best friend. He enjoys lounging on the couch and playing with plush dog toys while his foster dad works from home. Odie greets his foster mom and siblings with enthusiastic tail wags and sloppy kisses when they get home from school. Odie and his canine foster brothers enjoy romping in the yard, taking walks, and stealing each other’s toys and bones. Odie is free to roam our house when we are home, but he stays in a crate when we are not home. Odie does not love being in a crate, but he tolerates it without barking once we leave the house. In the evening, Odie enjoys lying near members of his foster family on the couch while they watch television or play videogames. At bedtime, Odie sleeps soundly on a dog bed in his foster parent’s bedroom. Odie is a great companion dog.
Odie is healthy, neutered, and current on all vaccinations. Odie’s teeth have some tarter build up, so regular maintenance with brushing and dental bones is recommended. Odie has a long tail and nails. We have tried trimming his nails, but he really doesn’t like the nail clippers. A professional groomer could provide Odie with a long-overdue pedicure. Odie should also continue heartworm and flea/tick preventative medications.
Odie entered rescue as an owner surrender. He had one owner since he was a puppy. At his previous home, Odie learned basic obedience commands and roamed freely around the house. Odie previously lived with children and a cat. Odie was raised as a family dog, and he does not have any hunting experience.
