Dog Story: Obi is a beautiful one year old orange roan Brittany who personifies the 110% Brittany puppy to a T – he has a TON of energy and is always on the go ready to have fun. Obi is a very strong and athletic boy at 40 pounds and loves adventure, enjoying activities as a running and biking companion and even skateboarding! He has an outgoing, friendly personality and gets along well with people, kids and other dogs. Obi knows some commands such as sit, down and wait and is working on manners such as not jumping up on people. Like most young Brittanys Obi pulls very hard on leash in his eagerness to explore, and consistent training for good leash manners as well as a basic obedience class with his new family will further his progress. Obi will require a fully fenced yard with secure, high fencing to keep him safe. He is currently in ABR foster care in the Miami area. Obi is housetrained and crate trained and enjoys the companionship of human and canine family members. He has grown up with children but with his puppy activity level may be a bit too exuberant for younger kids and toddlers. Given Obi’s high prey drive chasing birds and squirrels, he will not be a candidate for a home with cats or small critters. Obi has skin allergies that are treated with medication when needed, and takes Benadryl and Atopica (prescription allergy medication) which cost about $20 a month. Obi will be the ideal companion for an active, bird dog-experienced family ready for the commitment and fun of a Brittany puppy. Obi is looking for a home where he will have a job to do as the smart, eager boy he is – spending lots of personal time with his people, enjoying vigorous daily exercise as a workout buddy, and all the playtime and stimulation Britt puppies require to grow into happy adult dogs. If you are interested in welcoming home a handsome Brittany puppy and giving Obi all the love and care he deserves, please submit theadoption applicationand mention Obi-4613, then contact his foster family. Obi was a beloved pet with his previous family. Due to his owners’ busy schedule and frequent work travel out of the country, they wanted Obi to have a new home where he will receive the time, attention and exercise a Brittany pup needs.
