Dog Story: Meet Moses! A one year old, vibrant, 38lb, orange roan gentleman in the making. He is a quintessential Brittany in both intelligence and aesthetics. He went from 1 command to 7 in the space of a week and has incredible capacity to learn so much more! His repertoire includes: come, sit, shake, down, stay, look at me, off and sit for dinner. His foster siblings understand that he is still very much a puppy and have helped a great deal in teaching him the ropes. He is housebroken, crate trained and is now walking decently on a Sporn Halter. He has also been introduced to the resident cat and while he demonstrates no predatory behaviors, he is still learning that he is not allowed to play with her. This ‘high octane’ teenager is not for the novice Brittany parent. He needs a family well versed in the intellectual and physical demands of the Brittany or will do equally well with a family thoroughly knowledgeable and capable of handling other high energy breeds. Like most precocious brits, Moses will devise creative strategies to escape the yard so a 6 foot fence is a must. He has enjoyed constant companionship in our care, daily obedience lessons and hours of playtime. He very much relishes the day’s ends snuggled up close being told what a good and beautiful boy he is! He is the whole package! – A well balanced, well adjusted, incredibly bright and undeniably handsome young brit completely capable of forming a lifelong bond with you. The foster person has a few people she is considering and will be making a decision this week. Moses came to us on January 8th 2012. His previous owner found him as a stray in front of her home and took him in. He was malnourished, flea ridden and had an ear infection. He had been spotted roaming the neighborhood for weeks before he found the angel who took him in. Two months passed before she realized that this breed’s high energy needs were too demanding for her current circumstance and made the difficult decision to give him up. He is heartworm negative, up to date on shots, on flea, tick and heartworm prevention.
