Maya is the sweetest little lady who arrived on November 13th from Greece. She is a gentle soul, who wants to lay at your feet and be a good companion.Maya is a sweet, petite (32 lbs) girl. Based on her early behaviors in her foster home, we believe she was a street dog. Maya is house-trained and has learned to stand by the door if she needs to go out. She is crate-trained, and loves her crate. Sometimes during the day she will choose to hang out there, and if left alone in the house she will go to her crate. Maya loves to greet people and other dogs when she’s out. She ignores the household cats. She rides beautifully in the car. She walks with an extension leash and harness and she is very enthusiastic about her daily walks. She will need more training to walk without pulling on a regular leash and collar. She lovesmealtimes and takes treats very carefully from your hand. During quiet times she curls up at your feet on the floor. She was named by rescue so name recognition needs to be practiced. The more time you spend with her the more her natural Brittney instincts become apparent. As Miss Maya was a street dog, having a safe yard to hang out in is important for Maya. She loves walks, but she really loves to lay in the sun and let her nose explore around a yard.If Miss Maya sounds like the perfect companion for you, please complete the online adoption application and reference Maya.
