Dog Story: Meet Max! This boy is a strong bundle of energy and excitement with a sweet disposition. He’s looking for a home with a good-sized yard for him to chase birds and squirrels, and a family willing to spend some time with him. He loves to be outside, watching the birds in the trees, but settles down in the evening very nicely and even lets our cat climb and rub all over him, it is so funny to watch the two of them together. Max is house broken and learned the dog door instantly and is good about letting himself in and out. Vet records from a couple years back indicate that he’s lost 20 pounds, but Max is still a big boy at 56 pounds. That doesn’t stop him from trying to sit on your lap, though! Max also gets along well with his new foster siblings. As soon as he hears my truck coming up the road he runs to greet me at the gate for his treat I bring home for him as he does need work on recall. What a great dog he is, his little fun things are that he will come inside to let you know he sees a bird or squirrel in a tree and want to show you that he’s on guard. He does not dig or make a mess when playing outside in our yard. He loves his bath and getting groomed too. Max is up-to-date on all his shots and microchipped. If you’d like to make Max part of your family, please fill out the adoption applicationonline and mention Max 3751. Update 5/5/12: Max is a real close people dog, all he wants is to be around people after his morning inspections and play time. He comes in just to make sure you are still here. When asked to sit or told to lay down the commands are well respected. ‘What a Good Dawg he is!’ He makes us happy to have him around. Max was surrended by his owners to ABR as they did not have time for him.
