Max is a wonderfully friendly boy, full of energy and love. He is looking for his forever home and really needs a place where he can RUN. He is currently on an acerage that allows him to run on about 5 acres. He needs to be in a family situation with his people around him. Max loves to cuddle and doesn’t seem to have any favorites, he just wants to be close to people. He is definitely a house dog. He is about 16 months old, neutered, up to date on all shots, has had bravecto and wants to come love you.
I met/picked him up at Pheasant Fest in Sioux Falls this last March. You may have seen us wandering around the event enjoying all the attention he got. He was very good with the crowded conditions, let everyone pet him from children in strollers to those in wheelchairs. Nothing really seemed to bother him. He was actively seeking out attention from everyone passing by.
Max was donated to ABR from a trainer in Kansas who determined that he had no prey drive. Max was living in a kennel situation and wasn’t house broken. Since then, we have been working on his behavior in the house, potty training, eating only his own food and hanging out with his people. HOWEVER, we have seen him point birds, flush birds and chase them in our yard. We believe he just needed to be in a different situation and allowed to find out about birds on his own. He has definitely been showing interest in them.
Max can not be in a situation where there are cats. He doesn’t play well with them.
