Dog Story: Luke is a happy-go-lucky, young Brittany who came to us after animal control found him wandering rural Alabama. Unaccustomed to proper care or nutrition from his previous owner, Luke is loving being an indoor dog and is happy to show it! Like many Brittanys, he has a spunky personality and still has a lot of puppy play and energy left in him. The vet estimates he is about one year old. Since coming to us as an outdoor, wandering man, Luke has become an eager-to-please dog. He will sleep in his crate without any issues and he will even kennel up when you ask him to (sometimes a little food encouragement is needed)! He is about 90% house trained, but will have the occasional accident, as all pups can. He is a wonderful walking companion on a leash and would be a loving addition to any home. He is great with other dogs (big and small) and takes his place in our pack as the subordinate. His only needs are lots of love and attention, as well as an outlet for play as he is still young. We do not yet trust him off-leash, so a fenced-in yard is a must. In his limited exposure to cats at the shelter he was fine. If you want a talkative, loving, young companion who is up to date on all shots, heartworm negative, on preventative and neutered, then Luke is your man! Luke was rescued as a stray by Animal Control in Alabama.
