Meet Louie a VERY PETITE 4 yr old neutered male. Don’t let his size fool you he packs a lot of energy and strength in that little frame! Louie has come an a LONG way from a month ago. A month ago he was afraid of his shadow, of us, and of life. Now he is housebroken, quits bad behavior when asked to, etc. Louie has done well learning to walk on a leash and obeys the ‘tugs’ (if he wants to start chewing on sticks/leaves/rocks, etc. a quick tug means to leave it and he does). When at home, Louie loves his Kong to chew on. Louie now weighs 21lbs which is an improvement of his original weight of 18.5 lbs though he still needs to gain a little more weight. Louie is an early riser up between 4 and 4:30am to go out and do his business before having breakfast, treats and playtime followed up by a nap. Because of Louie’s high energy and still learning to trust, Louie will require a fenced yard. Louie is learning at 4 what most learned at 10 to 12 weeks of age. He has made amazing strides from a scared underweight Brittany to one who enjoys being around his people and just LOVES to play with the resident Brittany. Louie is smart, witty and has an appetite to learn new games to stimulate his mind as well as to tame his energy. Louie still has lots to learn about life and that is where you will come in. We have laid the groundwork and his forever home will see it through and in the end, you will have the most amazing, loyal buddy anyone could ask for! Louie’s perfect home would be one of patience, love, and a sense of humor! Louie will have you laughing and crying!! Another dog or social activities would be helpful for him to build up his confidence as well. If you are interested in Louie, please fill out the adoption application and mention his name and ID #. Louie is up to date on his vaccines and is heartworm negative and on preventative. Louie came to us along with 2 other Brittanys from a home where the owners were unable to care for them the way they should have been. Louie was extremely underweight, had parasites and had to have 7 teeth pulled besides being neutered. Living inside has been a whole new experience for him.
