UPDATE we have received so many wonderful applications for Kona that we will be working the applications we have to choose her forever home and are marking her ADOPTION PENDING!l don’t want to use superfluous adjectives to describe my four year old foster girl Kona, but she is the sweetest, most gentle, adorable, loving, well behaved, playful, affectionate pup that I’ve ever had. She has been the perfect house guest, and l will miss her when she finds her new home.Kona came to a Maryland shelter where she was seized from a home with 21 other dogs, preparing myself for the worst when l agreed to foster her. l was ready for a malnourished, socially aggressive, not potty trained, frightened little dysfunctional misfit. l have been down that road before, so l was ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work. What l actually got was the most perfect well behaved foster pup that anyone could ask for. Kona has a healthy coat and is at the ideal body weight. She is socially pleasant to my two Brittanys and a cat. She is quite the cuddler, and loves belly rubs and head scratches. She can be left in the house alone for long periods of time without being crated. She is potty trained, and frantically runs to you and then the door when she wants to go out. She rides well in the car and sits quietly and looks out the window, or takes a nap.Kona loves to play fetch. That is her most favorite activity. She will play catch all day if your arm can handle it. If l was going to say one despairingly negative thing about Kona it would have to be leash walking, but with some practice, l am sure she will master that as well. So, if you are looking for the perfect pup to greet you at the door every day, and to play and cuddle with, then Kona is ready and waiting with her tail wagging at full speed.Kona will need to be spayed and her appointment to do that is Oct 5th and then will take 2 weeks to heal up after that. So if you think you would love to be Kona’s forever home please fill out ouradoption applicationand note Kona. With the pandemic we are not looking to transport this sweet girl a great distance to her new home
