Kirby is a lovable lug who quickly made himself at home. Loves his people, adults, little kids are all potential friends. He lives with our male Britt with no issues. Smart, funny and a real character. His code name is the Dork. Kirby is a bit of a flight risk; dude has springs in his butt. He leaped our 4-foot fence to pursue a bunny. Very prey driven, will chase anything. He is not a fan of thunderstorms. He wants to crawl into your skin. We’re thinking he was not a fan of gun shot and that is why he was found roaming a state park. He will definitely need a secure tall enclosure. He has the attention span of a typical young Britt, but learns quickly. While this boy has been crate trained, he is not thrilled about them. However, if you leave him out at night he is up at the crack of dawn. If you kennel him, he will relax and wait patiently to be released. A much better way to start the morning. Kirby needs be included in an active family’s day to day life. The bigger the better as he thrives on the attention and activity. No sight unseen adoptions for this Britt Boy. We feel it is important that all family members (human and canine) meet to assure that we have a good fit. If you would like to considered for this adorable boy, complete the adoption application Kirby is a surrender from an all-breed rescue. He was found roaming around a state park in Central Illinois wearing a vest with weights. His foster mom had intended to adopt him, but realized he was not suited to big city living in Chicago. Knowing he needed more than walks and a trip to the dog park, she contacted ABR to find him the best home. Kirby is neutered and micro chipped. He is current on all vaccinations, has been treated for Heart Worm, tested negative and is on Heart Worm Preventative.
