Adopted!!!

Dog Story KC is a lovely lady looking for her forever home. She is with her current family and is being surrendered due to health issues with her family. KC is high energy in the morning and currently has a one acre fenced yard which she uses to burn her energy off in the morning, once in the house KC is a lady and is very well behaved. KC knows the command of ‘enough’ to stop what she is doing, this is used for her to cease what she is doing, sits on command and ‘wait’ means to wait before going through a door until told it is ‘OK’. KC knows ‘kennel’ to go in her crate for bed and has no bad habits. KC gets along well with other dogs, her housemate is another small female of mixed breed and they get along great. KC has not been walked on a leash other than to go in and out of the vet’s office and during those occasions she wears a harness. KC would probably not be good with cats as she has caught and killed rabbits in her yard. KC is severely gun shy and is terrified of thunder and loud noises. KC’s family uses ‘rescue remedy’ when they know a thunderstorm is coming and they also wrap her which sometimes helps. KC is 35 pounds and ideal weight for her. KC has no health issues. Bottom Line: KC would be good in a home with either another dog and/or someone that is around a lot of the time as she loves her people. She also needs a yard big enough to burn off her energy in the morning. Her current owners are retired and that works well for KC. KC is heartworm negative, up to date on all vaccines and is microchipped. If you think KC would fit into your family, please complete the online adoption application. KC was adopted by her current family at the age of 2 in 2011 from ABR. Before that time, she had had multiple homes and was an owner surrender to ABR. She was left alone a great deal of the time and was an escape artist (digger), maybe because she was lonely. Currently she has another dog for company and her people are retired and do leave her and the other dog alone but she is content with the company and no longer tries to escape. She is good with delivery people, being people friendly.
