Kate and Pippa are bonded senior lades that are 10 years young. The “girls” may have eaten too many cookies along the way making them both obese. Pippa came to ABR topping the scales at almost 70 lbs. while Kate weighed in at almost 64 lbs. , a lot of weight for their small frames. They rang in 2023 with a weight loss plan, stepped up exercise program and rehab to help their atrophied muscles. Their weight loss program is going well with Kate down to 53 lbs. and Pippa down to 63 lbs. Their personalities are beginning to shine.These sweet girls were loved family members that have lived the entire lives together. The rely on each other for comfort, even sharing one dog bed. Pippa is the adventurous one with Kate following closely behind. It’s sweet to see Pippa check on Kate when she falls behind. Kate is the thankful one, thanking you for every walk or pet. With their weight loss, their personalities are coming to life. Noses to the ground, proudly getting a mole in the yard, removing squeakers from stuffed toys.These sweet low key girls are content with nice walks and new toys. They walk nicely on halters and are friendly to all. Kate and Pippa will do well in a home with a fenced yard so they can keep their newly developing bodies svelte. The get along with other dogs, cats are an unknown. With Pippa’s prey drive cats are questionable. As long as they are together, they could comfortably the only dogs in the house.Kate and Pippa lost their parents unexpectedly with a month. Kind neighbors and friends stepped in to make sure they were cared for. ABR saw a Facebook posted and reached out to help. Both are spayed, Heart worm negative, on preventative, micro chipped, and current on vaccination.
