Dog Story: Jemma is an 11 month-old French Brittany, full of energy who loves toys, plays with our 3 Brits, and chases butterflies! She’s also good in dog parks with all breeds. She has a sweet disposition and is very affectionate. Jemma has a shy streak, a bit wary of men and deep voices initially but she warms up to them with treats and time. She is leash trained and can sit, loves walks, but still jumps, so we are working on that and on basic commands. She is crate trained and housebroken when following a regular routine of feed-walk-outside-inside. Jemma came to ABR when her owner surrendered her to a local shelter. The shelter did adopt her out but she was returned to the SPCA because an apartment environment required her to be in a kennel 14+ hours a day. She fears a newspaper so must have been disciplined poorly after peeing. She has made an easy transition into her foster home and it doing great. She is now ready for her forever home. This girl needs a back yard, plenty of exercise, and someone who is willing to dedicate the time to her training and shower her with lots of tender loving care! We believe her to be ‘birdy’, or she definitely could be an agility dog as she is a real charmer. If you would like to meet Jemma please fill out our online adoption application at www.americanbrittanyrescue.org Jemma’s owners surrendered her to a local shelter as they just didn’t have enough time for her. She is spayed, up to date on shots, microchipped and on heartworm preventative.
