Adopted!!!
Dog Story:
Hi, I’m Java! I was picked up as a stray and taken to the pound, where I was rescued by ABR. I am a bit shy when I first get to know you, but once I learn that I can trust you, I will be your best friend. I love being wherever my foster mom is, and will follow her around with a smile on my face and long tail wagging, hoping she will rub my belly or talk sweet to me. I’ve loved my foster brother from the beginning, I’m more confident when he’s around. I would love to have a canine companion I’m very playful, and would enjoy having another dog to play with, or having my new family keep me active and busy. I am about 3 years old, so I still have plenty of Brittany energy, but I settle down nicely in the house.
When I came to ABR I tested positive for heartworm. I have completed my treatment and I am ready to find my forever home! Before my treatment, my foster mom took me for walks and kept telling me what a good boy I was! I walk/run nicely using an easy walk harness and would make a great exercise companion for someone who likes to run. I need a fenced in backyard to play in because I love to run and play.
I am still working on learning my house manners. I know what ‘sit’ means, but I just get so excited sometimes, I have a hard time keeping still, which made it very difficult for my foster mom to get some good photos of me! I learned ‘sit’ quickly, and I am quite smart and eager to please! I don’t have accidents in the house, and I sit by the back door when I need to go out. With some time and patience, I know I can fit right in with my new family. My foster mom is always telling people what a handsome, sweet boy I am, and what a great dog I am!
Java, with 2 other Britts, were picked up by Animal Control in North Carolina. ABR treated all 3 for Heartworms and one has already been adopted.
