Dog Story: Meet Jake, a gorgeous 3 year old Brittany boy who is very affectionate, sweet and full of energy! Jake is 100% high-octane Brittany puppy and will run at full speed all day long, grab a quick drink and continue running in his sleep! He loves being outside, playing fetch and exploring the world with his people on long hikes. Naturally Jake is easily distracted by animals and noises and still needs work on his focus yet has already improved tremendously with basic obedience training in foster care. He is exceptionally intelligent and sensitive and picks up new things quickly. Jake is very friendly and wants nothing more than to be around people – in fact he will often sneak into your lap without you even knowing it! He prefers running and investigating the outdoors rather than playing with the resident dogs and likes his personal space. Although there are no children in his foster home, Jake grew up with kids in his previous family and is a gentle dog, requiring only soft correction in his eager desire to please his humans. Jake is very attached to his people and gets stressed when left alone for long periods, and therefore needs a home where someone will have lots of time to spend with him. He is housetrained and crate trained and has thrived in foster care enjoying the good life as an indoor family pet. Jake is a healthy boy at 45 pounds, is current on vaccinations, heartworm negative and on preventive and microchipped. He will make an excellent companion for an active family ready to devote plenty of time to a young, energetic Brittany pup and enjoy daily rigorous exercise, fun activities and lots of love together with a darling sweetheart. If you are interested in welcoming a handsome Brittany gentleman to your home, please submit the onlineadoption applicationand mention Jake-4474, then contact his foster family to meet him in person! Jake’s owners purchased him as a puppy and didn’t realize the commitment required for a busy young bird dog. They knew Jake needed a home where he could get more exercise, training and personal attention and surrendered him to ABR.
