Dog Story: Jake is a very handsome, energetic and enthusiastic young male Britt. He loves to play catch and fetch and he loves to run, stretching out his long legs and racing from one end of the yard to the other at record speeds! Jake gets along very well with his foster sisters and is very trustworthy in the house, the only problem being an occasional mixup over which stuffed animals are his and which ones belong to our grandson. Oh and he’s a counter surfer, but we are working on that! Jake is very loving and affectionate and has settled nicely into our family. Most of the anxiety related behavior problems which he displayed when he first came to live with us are disappearing as he is learning his lowest dog position in the family. But he still is not comfortable in a crate and he becomes frantic if he is put in the outdoor kennel. However, since Jake has proven to be such a good house dog, we are very comfortable with leaving him in the house for four or five hours. We are trying some suggestions from a local behavior specialist but I’m sure that this aversion to kennel and crate will continue to be something that his adoptive family will need to work on. Jake is a healthy neutered young male, is current on his shots and is on heart worm preventative. If you are interested in learning more about Jake please contact his foster family and complete the adoption application. Jake is an owner surrender. His family loves him and wants the best for him, and when their work schedules became very demanding they agreed that he would be happier in a home where he wasn’t left alone so much and where he had a larger fenced area for exercise.
