Dog Story
Jack is a beautiful young Brittany boy who would love to celebrate his first birthday (May 16) with his forever family! A quick learner, Jack has already learned to go into his crate willingly (that’s where he finds his breakfast, dinner and treats!) to go up and down stairs, and to ring the bell on the door when he wants to go outside to play. All this in the short two weeks he has been in his foster home!
Jack is sweet, gentle and inquisitive, loves playing with his foster brother and exploring our fenced yard, and enjoys pouncing on balls, but thinks it’s more fun to run off with them than to bring them back! When first meeting Jack, he is a little nervous and shy, but if you get down on the floor with him, he will come over to let you pet him. We think he had limited contact with humans in his early months, and expect that his shyness will go away as he gets more comfortable with being a family pet.
Jack gets along great with other dogs and kids. He is fairly calm for a Brittany puppy, but like all puppies, likes to chew on everything (including the bushes in the yard!), so needs to be closely supervised when he’s not in his crate. We are in the process of housebreaking Jack (no accidents so far!) and will be starting him on obedience training. Both will need to be continued by his forever family.
Jack is 33 pounds, orange and white with the cutest freckles on his nose, and has a clean bill of health. He is ready for his forever home, so if you are interested in learning more about Jack, please complete the online adoption application and mention Jack in Virginia!
Jack and his sister Phoebe were surrendered to ABR from South Carolina because their owner had too many dogs and could not properly care for them. He felt it was in theri best interest to find other homes.
