Adopted!!!
What a difference a few weeks makes in the life of a dog!
Dear JJ, afraid of almost everything, has come out of his
shell and is acting like a real dog! He
kennels happily for his meals, is learning to walk on a leash without flopping
down, enjoys playing with his foster siblings, sleeps through the night
uncrated, spins around on the couch waiting for his siblings to jump up with
him, loves chew toys, and runs around the yard just for fun. He loves to sleep in Puppy Daddy’s lap and
follows him everywhere. He doesn’t panic
when the vacuum is running and takes treats gently from our hands. He understands “No”. His name and a finger snap deter most
potential misbehavior (ie. Eating TV remotes).
When visitors came, JJ was eager to greet them, share the
couch, and go for a walk with them.
The initial concern about his ability to share attention or
be in close quarters with other dogs has dissipated. JJ definitely needs a home
in which he will not be alone for extended periods of time, and would benefit
from having a playful canine companion.
His family should be watchful of belongings and should “puppy-proof” his
surroundings.
Please no sight unseen adoptions for this guy. We feel
it is important for all family members (humans and canine) meet to make sure we
have a good fit. If you are interested in JJ please complete theadoption
application
JJ is one of 10 dogs surrendered to ABR in January 2020 after their owner
unexpectedly died. All were living in outdoor runs with barrels as
shelter. The family notified ABR and we took all into rescue. This sweet boy is
current on all vaccinations, neutered, heart worm negative and on prevention
medications.He also has been microchipped.
