Dog Story: Hello, my name is Ives! I would say if I have a motto it would be ‘Looking for Adventure, or whatever comes my way.’ I am a long-legged happy Brittany puppy and just turned 9 months old, so I am a very busy bee looking for a very active family ready to keep up with my puppy energy and antics. My foster family says I want to be part of it all, and that includes playing, running, chewing, maybe a short nap, and then more playing and running! My foster brother and sister are teaching me good manners with other dogs, and although I’m ALWAYS up for a play session I have been learning that not every dog wants to play all the time. Every day I go on long runs in the neighborhood with my foster family and bike rides with the doggy-jogger, although with safety in mind they have to be careful in case I go chasing after a rabbit or cat. I need work on leash manners to not pull and weave back and forth so much on my walks and runs. I’ve enjoyed trips to the busy baseball fields with the kids and greet every person and dog I meet in case they want to say hello. I don’t seem to mind noise with house remodeling and loud machines going, and the robot vacuum that cleans up my fur is pretty cool too. A human family that has the time and energy to raise a real Britt puppy is what I’m looking for, so if you’re looking for a busy exercise partner or running buddy, I might be your guy! Foster Family here: Ives is a handsome youngster who will thrive with an active family for a loving crazy pup! He is a tall and strong 9 month old growing boy currently weighing in at 37 pounds. Ives gets along well with everyone and adores the company of kids, and with his exuberant puppy energy and clumsiness jumping up would do well with older children. The resident dogs have been mentoring Ives to teach him more appropriate behavior interacting with other dogs that don’t always play at his high energy level. Ives is housetrained and crate trained sleeping safe and sound in his crate for nighttime and when the family is out, but with his need for frequent exercise and interaction spending overly long periods of time crated is not ideal for him. Ives can be vocal when he wants to play or get your attention, but overall he just wants to be part of the action. Ives is an excellent candidate for an active family wanting a running, biking, hiking or agility buddy. With basic obedience training, work on leash manners and consistent positive guidance from his humans as he grows through puppyhood into a good canine citizen, Ives will make a joyful addition to a family ready to keep up with him! Ives is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, current on HW/flea-tick preventive and microchipped.
