Adopted!!!
Isabel is a sweet, senior girl that will
melt your heart. She loves everyone she meets and craves
attention. Her favorite activities are taking walks, watching
over the yardfor squirrels, rolling in the grass, and napping on
thecouch. She has a playful side, but she’snot very
interested in dog toys or our resident Britt, instead preferring
tointeractwith her human friends. Isabel calmsdown
very easily and is in perfect shape – slim and trim! While in foster care,Isabel has had full run of the entire house and uses
a doggie door whenever shewants to go outside. Isabel
preferssleeping in our bed! Althoughshe has
excellentindoor manners, we are trying to get her more comfortable using
a crate. She gets nervous when visiting new places orhears
some loud noises (trainsand leaf blowers are scary, but thunder is
fine). I don’t know if she’s ever been around children,so
given her nervous side, I’d recommend a forever family with only olderchildren. Ideally,
her new family wouldhave one adult working from home (or maybe a retiree)
and a fenced yard toexplore. She would benefit from some
refresherobedience training (i.e. “stay” and “come” commands) using a
gentle voice givenher sensitive nature. Her
leashetiquette has improved a lot while in foster
care! Shecan be placed with another social dog or be the sole focus of
yourattention. Isabel’s only behavioralconcern is that she an anxious pup. This is probably a reaction tobeing in a new
environment and will likely subside as she becomesmoreconfident in
her surroundings. No long distance orsight unseen adoptions for this special, senior girl.
We feel it is importantthat all family members (human and canine) meet to
assure that we have agoodfit. If you want a loyal,
lovingcompanion, Isabel may be the dog for you! Please fill out
anapplicationand mention your
interest in her.Isabel was surrendered to an animal shelter because her elderly owner could
nolonger care for her and was quickly placed with an
ABR fosterfamily. Very little is known about her,but she
appears to have come from a loving home given her sweet personality,
indoormanners and good health. She is spayed, micro chipped,up
to date on vaccinations, heart worm negative and onpreventative
