Adopted!!!
Sweet Hoss is a charming boy who just wants to be with you. He loves walks, belly rubs and supervising your daily activity. He seeks and thrives on human contact and approval. Hoss is a champion foot warmer. He is a great announcer of visitors. But barks only long enough to alert us and quiets when asked. He is friendly, but not pushy. He is that same way with other dogs, Hoss visited a family with a male and female Brittany and was respectful. He does not deal well with a pushy dog and will push back. He was crated trained, but hates the crate.
Unfortunately, Hoss has some anxiety and is on Prozac to take the edge off. We allow him free range of the house while we are gone. He also has some ongoing skin allergies that we are treating with an oral med, Apoquel. After having a visiting dog for the afternoon, he may benefit from having another dog in his life.
No sight unseen adoptions for this Britt Boy. With his anxiety issues, we feel it is important that all family members (human and canine) meet to assure that we have a good fit. Hoss would do best with a family who is around a good portion of the time, a yard for him to explore, and patient humans while he acclimates to a new environment. He is a great boy, but will need time to acclimate to any change. If you think this adorable boy might be the one for you, complete the adoption application and mention Hoss.
Hoss was an owner surrender to a shelter. He reportedly was surrendered because his family had lost an older female Britt to cancer and no longer wanted Hoss. We were thinking he was very bonded to this other dog and became anxious after her death. Hoss is neutered and micro chipped. He is current on all vaccinations, is Heart Worm negative and is on Heart Worm Preventative.
