DOG STORYMeet Harvey aka BUD!Bud is a good looking Brittany who basically lived his entire
life tied to a tree for 12 years. Bud
was turned into a shelter when his prior owner died. The shelter contacted ABR.
Bud was lucky- he ended up in an extraordinary shelter and they treated him
like a king. They got him checked out vaccinated and neutered.Bud takes a few days to get used to new situations but
once he does, he is a happy boy, always wagging his tail when he sees you. He loves human attention, exercise, and most
of all-treats!! Not being accustomed to being inside, Bud wears a belly band
inside and has a hard time relaxing indoors.
We think it’s just because he is used to being an outdoor dog and still
doesn’t understand it’s OK to lay down inside.
He just paces or walks around exploring and sniffing the house. Bud has limited hearing and eye sight but can
hear a loud voice and see larger objects-like people. He can smell a treat
without problems!!! It is recommended that Bud go to a home with a fenced yard
so he can safely explore the great outdoors.
Otherwise, he is in good physical shape for a 12 year old and has run a
mile with his foster Mom and walked several miles outside without difficulty.Bud is OK on a leash but needs more work with pulling
less (typical Brittany ). He is currently in a foster home with 4 other
Britts and after the initial few days of getting to know the other dogs has
done fine with them. If you would like to consider adopting Bud, please submit
