Meet Hank! This adorable boy needs the support of Brittany lovers, whether it be our positive thoughts or the more tangible Brittany Buddy donation. Hank was dearly loved by his 4 year old hoo-sister and 1 year old hoo-brother. Their delight in Hank was reciprocated by non-stop wiggles of his little nubbin of a tail and his gentle interactions with the children. He was easy going in the house, crate trained, house broken, mannerly, and playful, a fetchin’ machine! This all came to an abrupt halt when he was running on a retractable leash which broke. His little body couldn’t handle the out of control forward motion and the owners were told at the ER vet clinic that his ACL tore. The cost of surgery and physical therapy was beyond the financial means of Hank’s family so they surrendered him to ABR. Hank was seen by his foster’s vet as soon as he arrived in his ABR approved foster home in late September. The diagnosis was incorrect; Hank had a broken tibia that was repaired surgically in early October. Because his recovery and rehab will take several months, we are not accepting applications for him at this time. He needs your well wishes and, if possible, your donations. Hank was an owner surrender, is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and on preventative For anyone who uses a retractable leash, please consider this a cautionary tale. They are unsafe for many reasons that involve other dogs and hazards but they can also be physically dangerous. Please move to pending. In spite of saying we aren’t accepting applications, people keep applying and Hank is a long way from being ready to adopt
