Dog Story: Hi there! I’m Gus and I’m looking for a family to love me forever. I am sure to love you back. My foster mom says I’m a true Britt because I like to play all day and cuddle all night. And make no mistake, I REALLY love to be active and be the center of attention. I’m full of energy and love to wrestle with my foster sister- this gets me very excited, so I need to take frequent breaks to calm down. Antlers are my favorite and I could work on those all day, everyday if I was allowed. I’m working hard at learning my manners. I’m crate-trained and housebroken for the most part but I’m still having slip ups on occasion. A stable routine and someone with obedience experience will do me a lot of good. From foster mom Gus is a playful, energetic young boy who loves to love and be loved. He’s still finding his feet and is quite clumsy, often using furniture as his brakes. He loves to make his emotions known with his expressive voice. Gus would be happy as a solo dog or as a puppy brother. He does well at the dog park and doesn’t challenge the fence. He’s only had a few brief encounter’s with young children and has done well with them on a leash but would likely be unintentionally rough as he prefers to give full body greetings. He would not do well with small pets due to his prey drive. A good size yard would be ideal for this big guy. Gus was surrendered to the local shelter by his owner. They were not prepared for an active puppy and found that they did not have the time or lifestyle to keep him. They were not aware that there were rescue groups to help Brittanys and took him to the shelter. The owner’s friend contacted ABR very upset that Gus was taken to the shelter and asked us to help. Oh, what a lucky boy Gus is to have some watching his back!
