Adopted!
Gus…oh Gus, what can we say about you? I don’t think you know what being sad or angry is…you are always joyful, happy and moving…..always moving! But that’s what we love about you Gus!
That just about sums this boy up! He is always smiling, always cheeful, always ready for a snuggle or a good belly rub! Gus is a loveable Brittany that just makes you smile when you see him. Gus always comes back into our home to check on us about every 30 minutes..Wants to make sure we are happy and okay and then out the door he goes.
Gus has a friend, her name is Maddie! She also available for adption. They came into rescue together and seem to be very good friends. Wouldn’t say bonded to the hip, but they always seem to have each others back when together. It’s like watching synchronize movments…but with dogs! Gus comes in and checks on us every 30 minutes or so.
When we leave, he gladly goes into his crate for a treat and is quiet until we come home. Gus has been a joy to foster….
Gus loves to run, oh how he loves to run. We have an acreage and he uses it all. He has learned to sit and has a soft mouth when taking treats. Gus just wants to please. When on walks, Gus isn’t too great on a leash…but Gus is young and has the will and eagerness to learn.
We feel Gus has the ability to hunt. We are not hunters, but he and Maddie are always nose to the ground and searching. Gus also will track those pesky squirrels in your trees.
One thing Gus is very good at…is stealing your heart AND your anything that he feels shouldn’t be where it is at. We have a doggy door which is a blessing and a curse….I’m sure you know what I mean! Dish towels, shoes, socks….he’s a sneaky Pete for sure.
Lastly, Gus is crated when we leave….but has the run of the house when we are home. At night, he sleeps on our couch with Maddie next to him. The perfect home for Gus would be with at least 1 other dog…Gus loves to play with Maddie….he loves to pull her leg…HA! He NEEDS that companionship…he THRIVES on companship.
If you are intersted in Gus, please complete the online application and mention his name and ID#. Gus is UTD on vaccines and is on H/W preventative.
HISTORY:
Gus came in with Maddie after their owner died. Taken to a shelter here in IA. We don’t have a lot of background on either of them, so we are starting from scratch.
