Dog Story: Meet Georgie. He is a very handsome 5 year old boy, who acts many years younger than that age indicates. When Georgie came to us last August he had never lived inside a house, so had no manners, wasn’t potty trained, was heart worm positive, was not socialized to people or other dogs; all of those issues have been turned around, and now Georgie is ready for his forever home as a very loveable and loving dog. He walks on a leash, but can use a bit more of this. He is high energy but comes when he is called and is truly remorseful if he breaks a rule and is reprimanded. He is crate trained and continues to sleep in his kennel at night and while we are away from the house, although after an adjustment period we feel he will be trustworthy in the house alone. He is good with children and other dogs although he is a dominant male and will be happiest and safest in a single dog home or with female canine companions only. We do not know how he would be with cats. He showed his teeth and at first we felt he was attempting aggression. Finally the three adults in this household realized that this is his SMILE. He only does this when he very excited and happy! His high energy necessitates a fenced area for him. He is quite the cuddle bug! He follows people with adoring eyes and truly is hardwired to please his human companions. He wants to love and be loved. If you are interested in hearing more about Georgie, please submit an adoption application Georgie was surrendered to the shelter by a man who could no longer care for him.
