Dog Story: Georgie is being fostered and trained to hunt by an ABR volunteer who has generously donated his time, talent and knowledge to benefit her as well as ABR. She has quite a bit of training under her young belt already. She has worked with some youth hunts and has time in the Dakotas hunting as well and did very well for her age as you can see by the photos. She has papers and a pedigree to make many hunters swoon, as her daddy is well titled. This little girl LIVES to hunt and is HIGH energy. Georgie is a very sweet and special young Brittany so ABR will be handling her adoption a bit differently than normal in the following ways: 1. Her adoption fee is quite a bit higher than normal due to her training. Normal puppy – 2 yrs. adoption fee is $400.00, Georgie’s is $1,200.00 As her training progresses the price will go up. 2. She will ONLY be adopted to someone who will hunt her, has a good hunting background themselves and understands and appreciates a well- trained bird dog. 3. While ABR does not adopt to outdoor kennel situations anyway, Georgie must be adopted as not only a hunter, but a member of the family and live with that family not outdoors or in a shed/garage and not limited to just a room or two. Only crated when no one is home. 4. Adopter must have a large enough yard to see to her exercise needs regularly and have the time for it. Also have available land to get her out for a good long run weekly at the very least. 5. Adopter must be willing to come and get her, spending a day or two with the trainer and Georgie at their expense. 6. There will be special stipulations to her adoption contract. All other ABR requirements still apply. If you feel you will meet the above criteria, please fill out the adoption applicationNO PHONE CALLS PLEASE we will contact you after receiving your application. Georgie was an owner surrender from an experienced Brittany home. They purchased her after their last Brittany passed away and forgot just how active a young one can be. For their own sanity and in Georgie’s best interest they surrendered her to ABR. Georgie is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, micro-chipped, heartworm negative and on prevention. Update: I am pleased to announce that we have found Georgie’s forever home!!! She will have other 4 legged family members and she will HUNT, as well as many other wonderful activities to partake in and keep her mind and body busy. As always with our adoptees, she will be a beloved family member and kept indoors when not in ‘active’ mode. I want to take this opportunity to thank all those that have inquired about her. Since this is the first time ABR has offered a dog that we will guarantee will hunt, we were wondering how this was going to go over. WELL, is the answer! Many people are looking for that wonderful Brittany enthusiasm for hunting. We have had a very positive response to offering a dog with Georgie’s talents that have been brought out by a wonderful and loving trainer, who donated his time and care of Georgie to help benefit ABR. The extra adoption fee will help cover some of the expenses for our other dogs such as ‘Krash’ in Iowa who have very much deserved the excesses in expenses to ABR. A BIG Thank You to the former owners of Georgie, who recognized her needs and though loved her very much realized what was best for her and were able to give her what she needed by letting her come to ABR. Georgie. we all wish you many, many years of happy hunting! Be safe and know you are loved by many!!!
